James C. Farthing, age 62 of Forest died on
Sunday June 6, 2010 at 6:22 p.m. at his residence. He was
born on Sept. 13, 1947 in Kenton to the late Delmar R.
Farthing and Jane (Clapp) Farthing who survives in Kenton.
James married Rosemary Lee Cole on Feb. 11, 1967 and she
survives in Forest. He has two sons Douglas E. Farthing and
Andrew T. “Ty” Farthing a daughter Barbara Ann (James)
Farrell all of Forest, brother John (Nancy) Farthing,
Kenton, sisters Sandy Wilkins, Houktown, Diane (Donal) Paul,
Findlay, 7 grandchildren Christopher Metcalf, Columbus,
Jamie Farrell, Forest, Zackary Farthing, Forest, Stephanie
Farthing, Forest, Sabastian Farthing, Forest, Alexis
Farthing, Forest, and Kennedie Farthing, Kenton.
James graduated from Kenton High School in 1965. In 2009 he
retired from the Guardian Automotive Industries in Upper
Sandusky from the maintenance dept.. His hobbies were
showing Llamas, going to tractor pulls, drag races and
NASCAR races. Mr. Farthing enjoyed camping, water skiing,
traveling and spending time with his grandchildren
especially watching them in their activities.
A funeral service will be held Wed. June 9, 2010 at 7:00
p.m. in the CLARK SHIELDS Funeral Home with Pastor Tomas
Pispora officiating. Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. at the
funeral home on Wed June 9, 2010. Burial will take place at
a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the
Bridge Home Health & Hospice in care of CLARK SHIELDS
